It's your time, 2010 has arrived and I'm here to help you do a few things. Make more money, have more time for your family and fun stuff, build a stronger sales team, and help to develop your leadership team to be the best that they choose to be.

Yes it's your time as well as it's my time. It's time to pull the weeds and plant the seeds. it's time to develop new sales plans and encourage leadership qualities to expand and multiply. It's time to think right and get right with what we want to achieve in 2010. If we get behind the ole' eight ball in Q1, it get's really hard to pull out mid-year forecast plans. Now is the time!

1>Live on less than you make: sounds simple right? If you're already upside down, then let's turn you right side up with a plan. Develop your business plan now for 2010, you don't have to own a business to create a business plan. You have income and expenses, that's just like a business, revenue and expenses.

2>Learn to be mindful about your money: think first, don't live on plastic. Is what I'm buying a want or a need? Should I or shouldn't I? Think first, don't spend money just to impress someone, don't buy what you can't afford to just pay for, and reduce those credit card purchases starting right now.

3>Build your rainy day fund: Let me tell you, it's going to rain and rain hard at times. I've been in floods up to my neck without a "rainy day fund" to get me through the hard times. Start a savings account and add a little every week, if you have a thousand dollars start with that. Add each week, reduce the "want" spending a turn it into savings. Think 3-6 months worth (cash) to get you through the storm. A dollar a day adds up real fast, it's like living like an ant, compounding. The ant works daily to store and bring back to the "nest egg". What's your nest egg look like today? Start today, build so one day you can spend without worry and stress.

Today is the day to begin living these 3 common sense wealth building tips, I believe you can do it, and by doing you can enjoy life with a little less stress and worry. That means you can eat more desserts.

We Have Arrived, 2010!

We have arrived, the New Year is here, can't wait to see what lies ahead of us, the opportunities, the challenges, the dreams to come true. I can't wait to see all that's going to go down from Health Care Issues, Terrorist, Weather, Floods, Snow storms, the North Pole melting, the Homeless, Veterans returning home, Cancer cures, new books to read, new people to meet, new presentations to give. This year is going to be a blast, it's like we're at the train station the conductor just tore the ticket and we're off and moving up the tracks. Some might say down the tracks but not me as a motivational speaker you got to think up not down!

The arrival only lasts a few hours, like 24 then we're off to the next day, week, month, Spring, Summer Fest, Labor Day, Thanksgiving then more snow again, let me slow this train down, I still have snow to shovel today. I need to live in the present right? The NOW, not next Winter. This New Year will bring many opportunities for us all IF we look for the good, praise the good in others, direct our thinking in a positive mindset, yes this year will be a blast.

I'll search out new clients to add value too, new programs that will inspire others for greatness, new sales strategies to help sales professionals make more money and new relationships. New concepts and ideas on self-motivational behaviors, new contacts to help connect to others. As the "Success4u Networker" my job is to help connect others and networks as a "Hub". As the "Encouragement Guy" my drive is to add hope and "Inspire Action" as the "Sales Development Pro" my mission is to help people and organizations maximize their potential, boy do I have many hat's to wear! Life is good, as a "Cancer Survivor" my mission is to add value, hope and encouragement to others to keep living and giving.

Yes we have arrived, but only for a few hours (24) then we're off and moving, each station allowing us the opportunity to add value to others and inspire change for the better. What's New With You in 2010?

What's new with you in 2010? this is what I call a "high importance" question to your success, health, financial growth, and relationships.

My recommendation to you is to find a quite place. no cell phones, Blackberries, cats, dogs, HDTV's, get a pad and two ink pens, just in case one runs out of ink on you. Begin with your name at the top just like in school, and start reflecting on the year, you'll need a good 2-4 hours to complete this task, but it will be worth every minute of time invested. Start writing all the good things that occurred, new relationships, business developments, family things, financial opportunities that have crossed your path. Write it all down, don't second question your thoughts, discovery the new you through this process of "Reflecting".

The what's new with you in 2010, can be built from the current years activities, accomplishments, wins, losses, bumps, dirt roads and the smooth paved highways that you have traveled. Most of all the relationships, this is key to your success in 2010 and what's new with you. When you develop new relationships, you learn, you grow, new things begin to happen in your life, new connections, ideas and opportunities. You will be the new you in 2010 based upon the relationships you have. No one get's any where without the help of others, leaders are only as good as the people closest to them, their "Inner Circle" advisor's. We are who we are today by the people that have added value to our life, teachers, parents, friends, co-workers, husbands, wife's, children, don't think you can't learn from them.

While reflecting write out the person's name that added value to you in the current year, then beside that write out what they value, if you don't know go find out. Life is all about adding value to each other, and we can only add value to others when we understand what they value. This can be fun, connecting is a joy, exciting, you never know where a new relationship can take you. We all feel good when we know that we've helped another, get out there and make deposits in other peoples's life, that may be your what's new with you in 2010, adding more value!

Paint the picture for yourself, create the vision of what will be new in your life in 2010, new stuff is exciting, challenging, people want to connect with people that got things happening in there life. Maybe it's a new hair color, new glasses, different look all together, maybe it's a new career, a new start-up business, network marketing, a new home, new goals and new business plan. This list can go on and on all day, I do have to get to work soon. If it's been a few years since the last business plan was developed, sit down and look it over, what got you there may not keep you there, look at your marketing DNA, your website, your business cards, what can be updated, changed and or improved on for the New Year? How will you stand out in the business world in 2010, in the crowd, how will you be seen and heard?

What is it that you can do differently with your family? More time with the kids, cook more meals for your mate, date night once a month, don't loose focus of what got you there, the fun, the dating. What about having your family create a list of "what's new with the family in 2010?" come together, filter thought everyone's ideas no matter how old or young, everyone has a mind and ideas, dreams of a better year.

Looking out the window for opportunities like a bird I can't get too!

Looking out the window for opportunities, like birds and things I can't get too, plus it's to cold says Peanut. Lessons from a cat again, yes, there is so much to learn just by observing, watching and listening. I've found that the more I observe Peanut the more I learn about leadership. I know it sounds a little funny, or maybe just plain weird. But I'm from the south and you know what they say about people from the south? You got it, we talk funny, had you there didn't I?

Here is our lesson on living like a kid (cat) for today. Sitting quietly, observing, listening and watching for something to come by the window of life's opportunities, this is what this is all about. As I watch Peanut just sit, timelessly, no movement, ears up, staring out the window hoping to see something that she can think about getting, eating, who knows. She can sit for hours, ears up  watching, listening maybe even preying on something, like we do our goals, our ideas, our purpose. I've realized that it's okay to listen more, observe more closely to my clients, prospects, just sit and learn, think to understand there needs so that I can be ready to leap, like a cat with solution's, programs, results, somewhat like Peanut, waiting for that one little bird.

In Peanuts case she can't get to every bird and we may not be able to get to every opportunity, but that doesn't stop her from sitting there for hours watching, thinking and dreaming. We too can keep watching, dreaming and thinking of what if, maybe tomorrow, next year, when my time comes, or we can act. I'm thinking if I opened the window Peanut would act and jump, but just for a short minute or two, it is 5 degrees out today as I write.

So in a "window seal" or a nutshell as some may say, it's time to keep watching, observing to learn, listening to understand, and when the opportunities come around take the risk, follow our passion, live aggressively and enjoy life just as Peanut does everyday. Sitting there looking out the window for that opportunity, the bird she can't get too, yet! There will be that sunny spring day again, it always follows winter, it's the seasons of life, and yes Peanut will be able to go out on her chain in the back yard as she's done for years now and wait for that opportunity to jump or climb the tree. Her day will come and your day will come, just keep watching, observing and listening and you will grow and opportunities will pass your way, life is good to all that look for the good.

Oh yes Peanut has a new box to climb in and out of daily, she's getting good at living life out of her box, what about you?

She wants to eat or play with her catch, I want to observe to learn, to grow, to be able too understand and offer more. So many times we go into meetings, interviews ready and loaded to lay out our ideas, plans and or answers, when we may gain more by observing, listening and asking questions to understand, to be in a position to add value. Peanut sit's at the window to dream of that little bird or whatever, we sit at the window to dream about our future, looking out at all the opportunities that await us as leaders, parents , customers, buyers, workers, looking for the right moment.

Live in the now, plan for tomorrow, dream of a awesome future and take some time looking out your window and make your dreams become ideas that can turn into action, Peanut recommends that you enjoy every second every day that you are given, and share a little love.

Making Yourself More Valuable; 4 Key Principles

Making yourself more valuable, brings greater value to your personal life as well as professional life. Being that this is a decision, let's make the decision to get moving on this subject. Many decisions are made daily, some major and then some minor, at times it's easy to spend major time on minor things. When it comes to making yourself more value I recommend spending major time on major objectives, like daily growth.

Loyality is an asset, and being loyal to making yourself more valuable is the same as increasing your assets. I will share four key prinicples that are simple to implement and can help you make a difference in your life by making yourself more valuable. The more valuable you are the more money you can make, the more people will want to be around you and the more referral business you will gain through these relationships. There's a couple of benefits for you to increase your value, and trust many there are many more, better personal relationships, better parents, more effective leaders, teachers, mentors you can be. the benefits go on and on and on. It's an endless pipeleine of wealth.

Enough selling you on the subject allow me share with you the four key principles, get your pen and paper and begin writing right now.

1> Read daily; reading allows you to learn more, the more you learn the more you can share, the more opportunities you have to share the more others will want more. You become a valuable mentor to one or more your call. First question is, what are your  major strengths? Second question is, what are you reading to enhance your strength zones? Invest in your value proposition, invest in yourself daily by reading. It's been said that the more you read, the more you know, and the more places you can go!

2> Ask Questions; Learn, learn and learn more by asking questions and listening to understand not to respond. The more questions you ask the more you will discover about yourself and the person or topic you are asking about. It's been said that questions are the answers, ask and you shall receive, if you talk to much you can't ask enough questions. It's okay to be a better listener than a better talker, a good conversation is about learning, you learn by listening and asking questions. How do you get to know more about people you come into contact with? Ask questions and learn, then find who you can connect them with to help add value, this make you very valuable, as a connector. Plus it shows true interest in the other person. A excellent way to win with people, which in return makes you more valuable to them and others.

3> Observing; There is sight and then there's insight, you gain in both areas by observing others, places and things. When you observe with sight, it's with your eyes, when you observe with insight it's with your mind, your intuition, your abilities, sight helps you see things insight helps you develop and create things. It's simple to become more valualbe by observing all situations daily, observe, ask questions and your value will increase before your eyes. Observe what others do, how they walk, what there office looks like, their likes and dislikes, the color of your customers eyes, the colors that they wear, you can learn so much just by observing others, you can become more valuable to others by observing and discovering things about other people, excellent tool for sales professionals, the ability to observe.

4> Experiences; Evaluate your experiences, learn from your mistakes, miss shots, relationships. Experience is good, but much more valuable when evaluated, reflected upon and action connected with the experiences makes the difference. Past experiences are great, but when though about and acted upon these experiences become learning objectives, opportunities for personal growth, which adds value and make you more valuable to others. Life offers us all many opportunities to fall and each one is a great experience to grow and get better, and add value to who you are, it's a great thing to hit the wall, fall off the wagon, wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Each action requires a reaction, a time to grow to worth more than the day before.

My recommendation to you is lead a "value-added life" daily by adding value to your life through these four key principles. Make a decision today that you will look for ways to add value to your strength zones, learn to read more, observe as much as you can and ask as many questions as possible, and take these experiences and grow with them. What's your sales plan for the day?

Big question, very important question to all my readers that are in the dynamic world of sales, what's your sales plan for the day?

I would suggest that you ask and answer before you ever hit the road running. My guess is your V.P. of Sales, President of your Company and your Sales Manager would like to know what your answer is too your question. If you are all the above and the sales professional all rolled up in one package you really need to have a answer to that question. If you are hitting the road running on hope, luck and wishing for a referral you are in for a very long day. I'm hoping my reads are not not flying by the seat of they pants (whatever that means!) I always fly in a plane in a seat strapped in, I don't know about you.

Let's see if I can add value with respects to the question; what's your sales plan for the day?

Who is it you are targeting today?

What is it you'll be offering this prospective client?

What is your story with the product ot service you'll be offering?

Where is it you'll be doing your BIG presentation? At the clients office, Starbucks, your office, etc...?

When will this go down? morning, noon or afternoon? Will this be over lunch and if so where? Your choice or your clients choice?

What will you offer that will set you a part from the competition?

How will you earn your clients trust during this interview time?

How will you prepare your presentation? Handout, power-point, referral testimonies, written proposal, pictures, etc...?

How will you complete your pre-approach work?

How much time is your client or prospect giving you for this meeting?

How will you know when you need to wrap it up?

How will you know if the timing is right to ask for the business?

Why are you looking to earn this customers business?

What's in it for this prospect to do business with you versus the competition?

Why do you think you are ready for the appointment?

What will happen if the prospect doesn't elect to do business with you?

What are the benefits of doing business with you, not your company, not your product or service but you?

Okay sales pro's take some time with these questions and get ready for your next interview with your next prospective client. Top performers, prepare, prepare and prepare again, to make sure that they have done their homework, worked for the client to prepare the best proposal and benefits of moving forward to a profitable working relationship for both of them, not just getting the "deal"!

Playing in a cardboard box, a lesson on living like a kid (cat!)

If my life was surrounded by playing in a cardboard brown box all day, I wouldn't have to be told to "think out of the box" my day would be in and out of the box. What a life Peanut has, we work all day she plays all day, what's with this picture? A lesson to be learned I believe, and the lesson is as follows; don't think out of the box, get out of the box and play with your ideas, have some fun, take some risk, tear the box up while you're at it, she does.

All I have to do is throw a box on the floor and it's like a mouse on the loose, Peanut comes a running and "BAM!" she's in the box, out of the box, tearing the box up, it's awesome. I wish I could move in and out of my daily box as easy as Peanut does, if I did my mind would be moving a million miles per hour, my energy would at full force, no one would ever say to me, think out of the box, hell I'm playing in the box, I'm having fun, I'm creating, running around the box. the box is no longer my limitations but my playing field, where I grow and create.

Peanut is just but a cat with a great personality, thinking out of the box, thinking in the box, on top of the box, under the box and all around the box. This is the lesson I learned this weekend watching this cat work the box, not just think out of the box, she worked the box, and I could tell she was having fun while working, what a concept!

What lessons have you learned from your kids (pets) that can be life changing for work as well as home? My and Peanut's challenge to you is don't just think out of the box, think in it, on top of it, under it, all around it, get creative with your thinking and playing and by gosh have fun while thinking!

Are you ready to get yourself in gear to make some new things start happening in your life today? I believe it's as simple as cooking breakfast or racking the leaves on a cool fall day in Wisconsin. I'm confident that you can get your motivation in gear and make a difference in your life starting right now.

The Dare to Grow Today Challenge is a simple but yet sometimes hard to implement concept, it takes will as well as skill. It's like going on a career interview for the first time, you can be a little nervous, unprepared, and not really sure what you want the outcome to be. It's not always the job you're looking to land, maybe it's the experience, the learned mistakes of doing a great interview, or maybe it's the job you're really after. The D2Gtoday Challenge is this, if you're willing, ready and able to challenge yourself today.

First, reflect for one hour not disturbed by anything, no phone calls, emails, text, tweeters, girl friends, boy friends, kids, nothing, I mean complete 100% solitude reflection time. That is you, a pen and a handful of blank white paper to make your notes. Reflect on the past year, and start writing, anything and everything. Note, special occasions, job intersections, family wins, career changes, business issues, personal challenges, wins, losses, setbacks, vacations, deposits, new relationships, new business connections, you get it, write it all down, this may take more than one hour, you may need to set a second time and date to pick-up where you leave off.

Write it all down, don't second think your thoughts, think it, write it!

Second, highlight in "yellow" all the good things that made a positive impression on your life over the past year, then highlight everything in "pink" that wasn't as good as the yellow experiences. Now count them up, do you have more yellow than pink, or more pink than yellow? What is it you need to be doing more of? The yellow is key, the things that have made a positive contribution in your life, the pinks are things that happen, maybe must happen, but not where we want to spend our major time. The key is not to spend major time on minor things, this is the majors and minors of life, don't spend major time on minor things.

Third, start listing all the things that you are good at, that you know you are great at and compare those to the "yellows' and begin doing things that help you get better at the things that you do good. It's important to your success in life that you spend your time on the major things that give you back a ROI of your time, skills and resources. Acknowledging your strength zones, the major areas that give you your greatest returns and focusing on these areas daily. This is what we call your "daily growth plan" (DGP) for short, your dare to grow challenge is about getting better at the things that you do best daily. Change is about today, changing something that you do daily, leads you to achieving your greatest life goals.

Fourth, make the decision to do something with what you have written down while on your "Reflection Time", it's important that you do something with your actions. Make this a "Inspired Action" not a "Required Action", set some short term weekly goals, then make the decisions regarding what needs to happen, change daily for you to achieve your short terms goals. Write out three goals for the week, three things that you want to get better at, that will help you grow with your lists of things that you are good at, so that you can get better.

The challenge is just to get better. Not that you aren't or that things aren't good, just get better at the things you do best. I know no one that was hired based upon the things that they don't do good, we get hired for the things that we do good, that we bring to the table. My challenge to you is that you set the plan to add value to your life daily so that you can add value to others. Dare to grow today, it's your choice, just one of the 2500 decisions that you make daily on average. 5 Success Strategies for Living a More Rewarding Life

1. Stay true to your passion, that one thing that excites you when you get up in the morning, that area that defines your strength zone. Your passion will engage your best results and create that enthusiasm that will drive your success. Once you know where your passion lies, don’t stray, stay focused, don’t let anything hold you back, learn to let-go of certain things to make room for what you need to keep your passion alive.

2.Live your life enthusiastically, and look for the good in all situations and the people you meet and know. It’s the people you’ll meet that can be a positive influence in your life and the books you’ll read that will help to make a difference in your future su ccess. You never know how far a relationship can take you. A good book that adds value is like a good friend looking after you, enjoy them both and learn to be thankful for each.

3. Your personal growth plan is critical to your future success at home, at work, with your relationships and in all areas of your life. Remember living is a gift, how have you enjoyed your gift of life. The better you get at the things you do best will only achieve greater returns. If you’re done growing then you’re done living. Bob Dylan say’s; if you’re not living your dieing. Your personal growth plan is all about growing, reading, listening, connecting, learning and relearning, caring and contributing. It’s truly a givers gain world that we live in, no one can do it by themselves.

4. Learn the discipline to “Let-Go” of things daily; as you know life is lived daily, the toughest thing about living is that it's done one day at a time. You only change when you change things that you do daily, but it’s hard to change daily if we don’t learn to let-go of things such as; bad & good habits, routines that get us no where (Looking as if), old ways of starting the day, attitude issues, expectancy mindsets, taking versus giving, not listening and implanting new ideas, bad daily time management (doing things that are not leading us to accomplish our daily tasks) and there are many more, once we learn to let-go we then can open the door to our new ideas and objectives that will lead us closer to our definite goals and vision.

5. Live your life daily with an attitude towards being; thankful, thoughtful and faithful. Have a conversation with the person in the mirror more than you might like, it’s hard to pull the cover over that person. Live your life as if tomorrow is the start of another great vacation, we seem to get a lot of things done when we know the reward is right around the corner. Then ask yourself this very important question; what do I want to be remembered by, what is my life statement the words that will be said about me once I’m gone, then live that life daily. Don’t stray!
